External Examiner – BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme

We are seeking a new External Examiner for the full-time, 3-year, pre-registration BSc (Hons) Midwifery programme, who will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme.

The role will involve being an external examiner across a range of Level 4, 5 and 6 undergraduate modules and level 7 postgraduate modules.
You will be involved in the approval of assessment tasks, moderation of student work, completion of an annual report and will be invited to attend a minimum of one Module Assessment Board per year. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules/new programme.

Applicants should hold an appropriate NMC Midwifery Professional Registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience of external examining although support and guidance can be provided for those new to this role. The University of Chester offers extensive support for external examiners and holds annual workshops.
