The School of Nursing and Advanced Practice at Liverpool John Moores University is looking to appoint an External Examiner for our BSc (Hons) Health Studies programme for this academic year.
The BSc (Hons) Health Studies programme is newly developed with an anticipated start date of September 2025 and is delivered entirely by distance learning.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced academics who have experience within health education in a University setting. All appointments are subject to the candidate meeting the University’s criteria for appointment. The appointment will normally be for a period of 4 years. Applicants should hold current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council or Health Care Professions Council.
Suitable candidates will:
- Be employed in Higher Education
- Have experience in delivering health related education
- Have experience in the participation or delivery of distance learning programmes
- Have experience in designing, delivering, and assessing Level 6 provision.
- Usually have previous External Examiner experience.
- Be resident and have the right to work in the UK.
Duties will include:
- Moderating samples of essay scripts and other assessed materials, advising the programme teams on the content and standard of assessments
- Completion of module reports and a yearly programme report.
- Liaising with other external examiners at LJMU.
- Attendance at the Board of Examiners as required
