This report showcases a variety of approaches and examples of how our members have integrated research into pre-registration nursing, midwifery and allied health curricula. Based on a members’ survey scoping the current landscape of research in pre-registration curricula, regulatory and professional guidance and a number of case studies, the report illustrates the diverse ways in which students can be exposed to research. The approaches include modules on research methods and evidence-based practice, research-informed teaching, dissertations and interdisciplinary research projects. In close partnership with healthcare providers, some universities have created research placements and projects in practice to apply their research skills.
