Respect for the diversity of learners is at the core of educator practice. A commitment to developing equitable learning environments and addressing inequalities is fundamental to facilitate and deliver education at all levels. Allyship, participation and antidiscrimination practice are central to leadership practice.
Steps for development in this domain could be to:
- Contribute to creating an inclusive learning environment using an evidence-based approach, welcoming innovation
- Demonstrate a shared responsibility for creating an inclusive learning environment
- Lead a team approach to creating that inclusive learning environment
- Develop and promote a diverse & inclusive learning environment that values & supports staff & students, across the wider organisation & professions
- Assess learners’ individual needs and preferences
- Ensure characteristics of inclusive leadership are emphasised (creativity, humility, and a commitment to diversity)
