We are seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious experienced graduate Mental Health nurse to join a proactive and motivated team, teaching and researching within a Department which delivers nursing, midwifery and other health related programmes. You would be joining us at an exciting time of team and programme expansion and growing student numbers.

In particular we are seeking an applicant, with strong teaching experience and communication skills, who is committed to delivering and developing an exceptional approach to programme delivery and student satisfaction. The applicant will ideally have previous course leadership experience and would be ready to take on the role of Course Lead for our BSc Undergraduate Mental Health Nursing provision, providing a strong and pro-active presence to support the team. This would incorporate both Blended Learning and Traditional routes.

You will be expected to contribute to, and as appropriate, lead on the provision and development of a range of outstanding undergraduate, postgraduate Mental Health nursing and health related programmes, including where appropriate, the supervision of doctoral students. You will also be involved in the delivery and development of simulation-based skills and education delivery. Your role will also provide support to students, practice supervisors and practice assessors within clinical practice areas and have a keen awareness of high quality student experience.

We seek to recruit an applicant who demonstrates commitment to facilitating student centred learning and innovative approaches to Mental Health nursing are essential. You should have knowledge of a broad range of contemporary Mental Health nursing practice, relating to a range of healthcare settings. You will also engage in the enhancement of the student experience through use and development of innovative and effective teaching and facilitation methods and utilisation of research in programme delivery.

Current registration with the NMC and either completion of, or working towards completion of, a master’s degree in a relevant subject are essential. You must be a member of the Health Education Academy (HEA) or have capacity to obtain membership within 12 months of appointment. On appointment you must be prepared to register and study towards a doctorate if you do not already hold one.
