The School’s MBChB curriculum emphasises problem-based learning [PBL], early patient contact, programmatic assessment, and an emphasis on community-orientated clinical placements at every stage.

We now wish to appoint a number of Medical Education Facilitators (MEFs) to support the on-going delivery of the curriculum across years 1 and 2 (Phase 1). This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the team as the Medical School, which opened to students in September 2023, enters its next phase of development..

You are invited to apply for a part-time post (between 0.4-0.8 FTE/ 2 – 4 days a week) to deliver a combination of Problem Based Learning (PBL) and/or Integrated Clinical Methods (ICM) contributing to the programme across the week. As a PBL Facilitator you will meet with groups of students on Monday and Fridays, as an ICM Tutor on Tuesdays and/or Thursday, and the remaining time will be devoted to preparation, curriculum development, career development and the assessment of students. Acting as Personal Academic Tutors you will meet at least 4 times a year with individual students and be responsible for updating student records and liaising with student support services
