You should have an established or promising research profile. Our research profile is expanding and our staff are required to engage in this activity and we have established research themes.

Ideally, the successful candidate will have a PGC in Learning & Teaching in HE (or equivalent) and FHEA status or be able gain both within 2 years of appointment. As a Senior Lecturer, you will also be required to take on some leadership roles as deemed appropriate by your Head of Department. To be successful, you will further enrich our student’s experience through your expertise and subject knowledge as evidenced through your qualifications and professional experience. In return, you will join a forward thinking and dynamic team that pushes the boundaries of curriculum development within the new Medical School.

Your clinical experience will help shape our curriculum, and will provide our students with opportunities to translate their new knowledge, skills and behaviours into their own practice.

About the Job

We wish to appoint an Advanced Clinical Practitioner who is also ideally an Independent Prescriber as a Senior Lecture to our Medical School. The schools’ philosophy for working is that staff work across the continuum of our undergraduate and postgraduate provision, giving staff variety in engagement, but ensuring that specific expertise is appropriately deployed. Experience of teaching and learning within a higher educational setting is desirable, or evidence of the delivery of teaching to and education of healthcare professionals.

Working alongside other healthcare professionals, the successful post holder will have significant involvement in the organisation and delivery of our MSc Advanced Clinical Practice (ACP) programme (traditional direct entry and apprenticeship routes). The successful candidate will provide greater capacity/subject expertise to deliver on this provision, enhancing the student experience by providing excellent and effective teaching that is embedded in current, evidence-based practice, supporting students to achieve their full potential and preparing them for safe and effective practice throughout their clinical career. Engagement in clinical assessment, skills and diagnostics in our clinical programmes will also be required.

Part of this role will be liaising with practice partners, students, service users and carers, to ensure robust evidence remains current, relevant and exciting, to underpin our curriculum.
