The Department of Health Sciences, based in College of Health, Medicine and Life Sciences, is seeking to recruit a Reader or Professor to a position that will initially include the role of Physiotherapy Divisional Lead for a period of 4 years. The position would suit an experienced and enthusiastic individual who would relish the opportunity to provide strategic direction and leadership to shape the continued success of a highly respected and successful academic team.

As a highly experienced professional and academic Lead for the physiotherapy profession, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining productive collaborations with a wide array of national and international stakeholders. You must have a substantial national and international academic profile within your subject specialism aligned to the academic aims of the Division, Department and College. You will need to demonstrate significant experience of education management and administration.

This post can recruit one of two contracts:

Academic Education: educational leadership requiring recognition as leading educator on initiatives that enhance teaching quality and provide effect strategic leadership and management enhancing student learning opportunities.

Teaching and Research: leading on advanced student and academic research whilst contributing to teaching and research administration. Undertake management and leadership duties commensurate with the role.

Applicants will be Physiotherapists registered with the HCPC or with a relevant international equivalent. You will have a first degree, or equivalent, in a relevant area; and a MSc, PhD or appropriate professional qualification in a relevant discipline. In addition, will need to satisfy a Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check.
