Salary: £60,905 – £62,727 as Reader or £62,729 – £76,493 on Prof Band 1

Applications are invited for a permanent full-time post in the School of Health Sciences, Bangor University. We are interested in candidates who possess the skills and expertise to undertake internationally excellent, world-leading research in (or complementary to) the following discipline areas: ageing and dementia, health services research, health economics, clinical trials, medicines evaluation, primary care, palliative care, mental health, public health, social care, nursing or dental care research.

The successful candidate will be able to clearly demonstrate how they will further strengthen our research portfolio, and meet the aim of the School and the Bangor Institute of Health and Medical Sciences (BIHMR), of undertaking research to, for example, improve the lifelong health and wellbeing of the population, or conduct evaluation of health technologies or medicines. The post will have an explicit remit to lead BIHMR and the successful candidate will demonstrate intellectual curiosity across the discipline areas for the College.

Candidates should be educated to PhD level (or equivalent) in health or social care or related subject and demonstrate the ability to lead internationally significant research programmes, be willing to work collegiately, and have the ability to successfully lead post-graduate research to advanced level in Higher Education. Candidates should have an established track record and future trajectory of publishing world-leading or internationally excellent rated outputs suitable for the Research Excellence Framework in the subjects described above.

The School operates across two campuses (Bangor and Wrexham), thereby providing flexibility in location choice for successful candidates.

Dependent on experience and potential, the successful applicant may be appointed as Reader or Professorial scale. Appointment to Professorial level will be based on candidates demonstrating all the essential requirements noted.
