An exciting opportunity has arisen to appoint a Professional Lead in Paramedic Science within the Department of Allied Health Professions, Midwifery and Social Work, School of Health and Social Work. We currently offer a BSc (Hons) Paramedic Science and MSc in Advanced Paramedic Practice programmes. The BSc programme has College of Paramedic endorsement, was 1st in the Guardian League Table 2023 and 5th in the Complete University Guide 2023.

Main duties and responsibilities
The post holder will be responsible for providing professional leadership ranging from curricula content to strategic directions for the Paramedic profession and maintaining and enhancing strong partnerships with local providers and professional and regulatory bodies as well as teaching on the programmes. The post holder will also provide academic and line management of their subject group.
Skills and experience required
Previous management and leadership experience is essential. You will have a sound knowledge of research and experience of developing innovative ways of delivering our curricula relevant to contemporary Paramedic Science.
You will have Experience of partnership working with key stakeholders, commissioners, provider organisations i.e., NHS Ambulance Trusts and Independent Sector partners as well as service users and carers and experience of the higher education sector and it’s political, national and international context
Qualifications required
You should have an MSc and ideally a Doctorate or you may be working towards completion of a doctoral programme.
You will be an experienced Paramedic registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) with experience of key roles in the delivery of pre-registration and ideally post-registration programmes in the higher education sector.
