You will be registered with the HCPC as an Operating Department Practitioner and hold an undergraduate honours degree. A teaching qualification is not required to apply.

You will develop and deliver learning materials that are contemporary and evidence-based, using innovative teaching and learning methodologies. You will also act as a Module Leader.

You will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, clinical practitioners, support and technical staff.

You will undertake a link lecturer role and provide educational support for practice supervisors and assessors in clinical practice areas.

Senior Lecturer

You will be registered with the HCPC as an Operating Department Practitioner, hold a Master’s degree and a teaching qualification. You will have significant post-qualifying clinical experience in operating department practice.

You will develop and deliver learning materials that are contemporary and evidence-based, using innovative teaching and learning methodologies for delivery in the classroom and simulation centres (encompassing VR and immersive rooms). You will support the Course Leader and act as a module leader, personal tutor and link lecturer, providing educational support for practice supervisors and assessors in clinical practice areas.

You will demonstrate effective interpersonal and communication skills to work collaboratively with students, other academics, clinical practitioners, support and technical staff. Essential to this position will be the ability to develop and maintain excellent relationships with healthcare providers in Berkshire and London.

As a member of the academic team, you will actively engage in the development of the professional, academic, research and scholarly profile of operating department practice in the College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare.

If you wish to influence operating department practice through high quality education and embed your clinical knowledge and experience of healthcare within higher education, this could be the opportunity for you.
