The Role
Forward-looking and innovative, join our dynamic School of Nursing and contribute to the development of the nursing and healthcare workforce. In this role you will strive to enhance the reputation of our School of Nursing in the area of the Nursing Associate. The School holds a well-established, strong national reputation as a first wave HEE nursing associate apprenticeship pilot site and launched of one of the first NMC approved UCAS entry Nursing Associates courses in England.
As a member of the nursing associate course team, you will have a keen interest in education for this group of students. You will support the delivery of nursing associate programmes and modules, contributing to classroom teaching, module planning and management. You will also contribute to practice learning support, promoting strong working relationships with practice supervisors, practice assessors and employers. In particular, you will have the ability to inspire our students and will have a keen interest in developing education. Alongside being involved in the pastoral care of students, you will be encouraged and supported to further your interests in scholarship or professional practice.

The Person
You’ll have excellent communication skills and the confidence to inspire pre-registration students. You will also be passionate about supporting students in both the University and practice settings and will be abreast of local and national developments in practice learning and the nursing associate role. Clinically up-to-date, it is likely that you will be a practice educator or an established nurse with experience in the education and training of pre-registration learners. Alternatively, you may be a nurse lecturer seeking a new teaching role with a focus on nursing associates. Whatever your background, you’ll have NMC registration and a first degree in nursing or related area (or be working towards this). You may also have a teaching qualification, such as the UKPSF2 or PGCHE.
