About the role
Reporting to the Head of School for Radiology, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of clinical education focused on medical ultrasound to both undergraduate and postgraduate students on the School’s portfolio of courses. Duties will include teaching and developing students’ knowledge and skills of medical ultrasound; and developing applied practice skills for students to apply on placements. Their previous qualifications in medical ultrasound will be invaluable in helping students critically appraise information and arrive at sound clinical decisions. The post holder will undertake research or professional practice activity in support of the School’s and institution’s research strategies and supervise students in the completion of their own research projects. Utilising dedicated clinical teaching spaces, onsite clinical facilities, and cutting-edge technology we aim to deliver courses which provide work ready graduates who excel in their chosen field.
About the person
We seek an enthusiastic and highly motivated UK registered medical ultrasound specialist with experience of working in higher education to join our team. The post holder will have excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and work in an evidence informed manner with relevant clinical experience.
The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to high quality research as part of a group of staff, developing their research skills and co-authoring peer reviewed publications. They must maintain their own development as a regulated healthcare professional and educator and contribute to the enhancement of pre-registration, post-registration and CPD courses within the School’s portfolio.
