AECC University College is looking to appoint up to two full time equivalent staff members at Lecturer, Senior Lecturer or Associate Professor level in dietetics for our exciting new pre-registration degree. Located in the beautiful coastal town of Bournemouth, Dorset with a mission to create a healthier society through education, research and clinical care, we are looking for like-minded individuals to join our diverse and growing multi-professional team.

Over the last three years the institution has been expanding its provision of allied health courses and we are excited to be developing a new pre-registration degree in dietetics.

About the role

Lecturer
Reporting to the Associate Professor, the successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of clinical education to dietetic and other health profession students within the institution. Duties will include unit leadership, high quality teaching, formative and summative assessment and constructive feedback to help student’s in their development. The post holder will undertake research in support of the School’s and institution’s research strategies and supervise students in the completion of their own research projects.

Senior Lecturer
Reporting to the Associate Professor, the successful candidate will be the inaugural Course Lead for dietetics within the institution, with the opportunity to shape and develop the institution’s new course and work with colleagues to plan the successful delivery of high-quality education and assessment to students. The successful candidate will lead academic delivery on the pre-registration degree and oversee the provision of clinical placements within local NHS trusts. Working with the Associate Professor they will undertake high quality research within dietetic practice and contribute to CPD and professional development activities.

About the person

We seek enthusiastic and highly motivated dietitians to join our team who are either registered to practice in the UK, or eligible to do so, with knowledge of the UK higher education sector. The successful candidates will have relevant experience aligned to the post they are applying for, an ability to foster student learning and development, excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills and a clear vision for the development of dietetic education within the University College.

The successful candidates must maintain their own development as a registered dietitian and educator and are expected to contribute to the enhancement of pre-registration, post-registration and CPD courses within the School’s portfolio.
