This role
This is an outstanding development opportunity for a talented individual who wishes to advance excellent and innovative research and education, especially in relation to Child Health.
This post is offered at grade 6 or 7. We particularly seek applicants with experience and expertise of child critical care. This postholder will play a key role in teaching on acute and critical care and skills modules. This postholder will also support pre-registration Child nursing programmes with an emphasis on clinical decision-making, professional development, clinical knowledge, evidence-based practice, leadership and interprofessional teamwork. The postholder will be part of the team developing innovative virtual and real time simulation (with accompanying evaluation or research) and engaging education with excellent student experience.
If on E& R contract with 40% teaching, 60% research responsibilities then the postholder will be expected to contribute to and develop a sustainable, high quality applied health care research programme in areas core to one or more of the Faculty’s research Divisions or Institute and relevant to the educational focus of this post. You will have opportunities to work with relevant health care, charity and industry/ commercial research partners. If E & R, the postholder will also contribute to development of the evidence based relevant to Child Health, in particular in the field of the acutely or critically ill child with a focus on the application and investigation of methodological approaches to the care of the Child and family.
The Faculty is made up of four Teaching Departments and three Research Divisions. We’re also home to the Cicely Saunders Institute of Palliative Care, Policy & Rehabilitation, the premier Institute for Palliative Care, bringing together clinical, research and education teams.
