Wrexham Glyndwr University (WGU) is delighted to be in a position to advertise for several Nursing and Allied Health Professions (AHP) Senior Lecturer and Lecturer posts and two Principal Lecturer (Professional Leads), within the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences’ Nursing and Allied Health Professions department. These posts have arisen following a commissioning process conducted by Health Education and Improvement Wales (HEIW). HEIW have taken the opportunity in partnership with stakeholders, to change the “shape” of education provision in Wales to best meet the needs of all Health Boards and Trusts and develop a cutting edge innovative contract to put Wales at the forefront of Health Professional education.

Applicants must have current Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) / Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) registration relevant to the role and membership of the relevant professional body. Additionally, experience in relevant clinical areas and experience of facilitating learning and developing new initiatives will be necessary. To ensure that the new contracts (which run from August 2022 with new students commencing education in September 2022) are successfully written, validated by WGU and approved by the relevant professional bodies, we are seeking excellent new team members with the vision, ambition and the ability to translate the needs of service into educational innovations. You will be committed to contributing to the ongoing development of an accessible and supportive Nursing and Allied Health Professional (AHP) community within which the wellbeing of the people of the region is at the forefront of all we do. Successful candidates will build upon existing strong partnerships to work closely with HEIW, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board (BCUHB), Powys Teaching Health Board, Welsh Ambulance Service Trust (WAST) and other stakeholders to ensure that the curriculum is closely aligned to service needs.
