We have 3 vacancies in the Division of Nursing and Paramedic Sciences and are seeking to appoint enthusiastic and motivated Lecturers within the Postgraduate Diploma Person-centred Practice: Health Visiting and School Nursing team. Working as part of this team, the post holders will be responsible for facilitating learning, teaching and assessment with students through their 52-week programme of study.

You will be responsible for planning their own workload, in conjunction with the requirements of the team. You will take on the role of Personal Academic Tutor to give academic as well as pastoral support to students. In addition, you will have a role as Academic Assessor when working with the student, practice assessor and practice supervisor. As such, there will be a requirement that you will take part in practice placement visits, so must be willing to travel across the five health boards supporting student learning. In addition, you will work in collaboration with the wider Nursing and Paramedic Sciences team, and with health board managers and practitioners supporting student learning.

One of the appointed lecturers will take on the role of Programme Leader for the School Nursing Programme, working in collaboration and under the supervision of the Programme Leader for Health Visiting.

You will have Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) Specialist Community Public Health Nursing: Health Visiting and/or School Nursing registration and relevant experience of health visiting and/or school nursing practice, together with a good understanding of the issues involved in student learning. You will have excellent communication skills, together with effective facilitation and organisational skills, you will be able to demonstrate the ability to manage a diverse role and work well both independently and as part of a team.
