The Faculty of Health and Social Sciences (HSS) is central to this vision, working closely with practice partners to prepare and develop health care and social work professionals to provide high quality care. The successful candidate will contribute to helping us meet the expectations of BU2025, the University’s strategic plan and will be expected to contribute to delivery of teaching at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. You will be engaged in research and knowledge-exchange activity including innovative CPD, short course activities and developing personal areas of scholarship and professional expertise.

As a Lecturer (Academic) in Paramedic Science, you will be able to demonstrate an in depth knowledge of the role of the paramedic – including an appreciation for emerging scope of practice such as primary care settings.

You will be enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy – eager to contribute to education delivery, including programme management as required, across the range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. You will also make a significant contribution to employability, and professional engagement with relevant internal and external organisations, at a regional, national and international level.

You will be qualified to Doctorate level or be able to demonstrate the ability to create and disseminate knowledge at an equivalent level and the capability to convert this knowledge into a doctorate in a maximum of 3-5 years from the date of appointment. You will be research active and committed to a culture of academic excellence and continuous improvement.
