The Department of Adult, Child and Midwifery is part of the School of Health and Education. The school is one of three within the Faculty of Professional and Social Sciences. The School offers exciting and wide-ranging undergraduate and postgraduate courses in education and teaching, health and social work, based on foundations of excellent scholarship, research and practice-based learning.
An experienced External Examiner would be preferred, but those seeking a first experience, with relevant clinical and educational experience would also be considered. The successful candidate will be offered support and induction on commencement of the post. The applicant must be registered with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC).
The External Examiner will be expected to moderate students’ assessments for modules delivered at levels 4-6, provide feedback regarding any potential module modification and complete an annual monitoring report. The role also involves attendance to relevant assessment boards. These take place approximately three times per year. There is also opportunity to visit practice areas to meet students and clinicians/practitioners at least once per year.
The appointment will run from 1st October 2020 for a period of 4 years.
