Edinburgh Napier University is looking to appoint an External Examiner for the Collaborative Modules run in conjunction with NHS Lothian. Completion of each module leads to an Undergraduate Certificate of Credit and can articulate to a BSc Nursing (Post registration).
The successful applicant will be expected to cover specific theory and practice modules. These work-based learning modules include: Clinical Decision Making; Foundation in Critical Care (Adult & Paediatric); Perioperative practice; Systemic Anti-cancer Therapy & Frailty in Older People.
Previous experience is desirable but not essential as mentorship can be offered to the successful candidates.
All applicants must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council and have a theory and practice focus.
The appointment will commence in April 2021 and the tenure is for a period of four years. All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. External Examiners are expected to attend Board meetings at least once a year and submit an annual report.
