External Examiner – MSc Mental Health and Addiction

The School of Health at Leeds Beckett University is looking to appoint a new External Examiner for our MSc Mental Health and Addiction course. The appointment will commence from November 2025 for a tenure period of four years.

Applicants must be working in UK HE with experience of teaching and examining at postgraduate level in the subject area. External Examiners attend Board of Examiners meetings at least once a year, submit an annual report and review coursework. Previous experience of external examining is not necessary, as the University will provide online induction training and a mentor. Further information on the course can be accessed on this link:

The appointment is subject to approval by the University’s scrutiny process. The current fee for an External Examiner is £400 per annum plus reasonable expenses. Due to potential reciprocity issues/ University prohibitions, please note that we are unable to appoint from the following institutions:
