We are currently seeking an external examiner for the MSc Healthcare Practice.
The course provides a flexible approach to CPD for a range of healthcare professionals and nurses: through the core modules students will develop their knowledge around the requirements for advanced healthcare practice, leadership and research alongside a choice of optional modules which will meet their individual learning needs.
The course also includes some identified pathways to meet specified needs locally for neonatal care and simulation.
Specific modules will be allocated to the External Examiner as several of the modules validated within this course are also accessed by students on other Courses. There are likely to be approximately 7 modules per trimester to examine.
There is also a requirement to examine a short course validated at level 6 and 7 for General Practice Nurse Fellowship.
The successful applicant will be asked to submit module reports for each trimester exam board and attend at least one examination board per year, submitting an annual report following this.
External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.
Essential Criteria:
- Experience of delivering relevant Master postgraduate taught programmes/courses at HEI level 7.
- Current registration on the appropriate professional register such as NMC, HCPC or relevant other healthcare register.
Desirable Criteria: Previous experience as an external examiner, however, those new to external examining are strongly encouraged to apply.
Date of appointment: December 2021 – September 2025
Course details will be provided to the appointee. Further information about the role of External examiner at CCCU is available at: Information for External Examiners (canterbury.ac.uk)
