The Leicester School of Nursing and Midwifery at De Montfort University, Leicester are seeking to appoint and External Examiner for the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice programme, incorporating the traditional and apprenticeship routes of study.
The role of the External Examiner is to provide assurance that:
• academic standards are set and maintained at
appropriate levels
• the assessment process is appropriate, rigorous, equitable, effective and conducted in line with policies, regulations and guidance
• the standard of student performance is properly judged against the level set,
• the comparability of the standard and level of student achievement with those in other higher education institutions
• achievement of End Point Assessment (EPA) requirements for Apprenticeship students, including attendance at the relevant examination board.
This post will be effective from 1st December 2024 and the term of office would normally be four years.
Applicants must have current NMC or HCPC registration, and relevant academic experience in advanced clinical practice and have experience of program delivery. Previous experience as an external examiner is welcomed, but consideration will be given to those seeking their first appointment. All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval.
