The School of Health Sciences is looking to recruit a new External Examiner from the 2025/26 academic year to support modules within the BSc Healthcare Practice (Top Up Degree) and MSc Healthcare Practice programmes. The School of Health Sciences at the University of Surrey is a vibrant and innovative school, offering a broad range of educational programmes in healthcare. The modules within the programme you would be external examiner for include:
- Application of Decision Making
- Developing Yourself Professionally and Personally
- Research for Professional Practice
- Dissertation (Research Project)
External examiners are required to review and evaluate assessment marking; be a member of the Board of Examiners and attend 1-2 meetings per year, (these are likely to remain virtually online for the foreseeable future); comment and give advice on programme content, balance and structure; and to complete an annual report as part of the University of Surreys quality assurance mechanisms. The University requires external examiners to attend a minimum of one Board of Examiners meeting per year.
Experience of external examining would be an advantage but is not essential.
All appointments are subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of external examiners. The successful applicant would be appointed with effect from 2025/26 for a term of four academic years.
Informal enquiries can be made to Hayley Ward, Programme Director (h.ward@surrey.ac.uk).
Interested applicants are required to apply by submission of Curriculum Vitae and covering email to: h.ward@surrey.ac.uk.
Deadline for application submission is: Monday 17th March 2025.
