External Examiner – Graduate Diploma: Integrated Community Nursing Programme

The Graduate Diploma: Integrated Community Nursing Programme at Queen Margaret University- Edinburgh (QMU) is supported by staff from the School of Health Sciences. QMU has a large multi-professional portfolio of programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels providing learning and teaching opportunities from Certificate to Doctorate level within the Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF).

We are seeking an External Examiner for the Integrated Community Nursing Programme at SCQF Level 10. The programme structure is shown in the diagram below. The modules to be examined are:

  • Promoting Person-centred Ways of Working in Integrated Community and Primary Care Teams
  • Learning from and with People and families Living with Long-term Conditions
  • Developing Professional Practice
  • Elective modules as chosen by the learners

[Systematic Approaches to Clinical Assessment, and Independent and Supplementary Prescribing are examined by the current EE for the PG Dip Person-Centred Practice (District Nursing)]

This programme is delivered entirely online and will use a variety of online asynchronous and synchronous teaching methods including online facilitated sessions, seminars, discussion boards and activities that will assist students to draw out the learning potential from their own practice and apply theory to practice. A range of assessment strategies are utilised including exams, written assignments, reflective accounts, community profiling, presentation, and e-portfolio.
