The Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for BSc(Hons)/MSc Nursing Science Mental Health Preregistration Nursing and Return to Practice Mental Health Nursing Programmes. The post holder will be the Lead Examiner for the programmes and will moderate the following modules:

MH0408 Theory Module 2: Applied Life and Social Sciences, Planning and Evaluating Care
MH0511 Theory Module 3: Psychosocial Approaches in Mental Health Nursing
MH0512 Theory Module 4: Perspectives of Complex Care in Mental Health Nursing
MH0613 Theory 5: Transition to Accountable Practitioner in Mental Health Nursing
MH0714 Applied Life Science for Mental Health Nursing
MH0715 Promoting Health and Preventing Ill Health in Mental Health Nursing
MH0716 Assessing and Planning for Complex On-going Needs in Mental Health Nursing
MH0717 Principles of Innovative Nursing Practice in Mental Health Nursing
AC6736 Return to Practice Nursing and Midwifery

As external examiner you will be responsible for contributing to the quality assurance of the programme. You will be involved in approving assessment tasks, moderating student work, completion of an annual report and may be invited to attend examination boards. You may be asked to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules.
Applicants should hold appropriate professional registration and academic qualifications. It is preferable to have previous experience as external examiner/assessor although support and guidance can be provided for those new to the role.
