We are seeking to appoint two Subject External Examiners for the DClinPsy. The programme is based within the School of Health Professions, Faculty of Health: Medicine, Dentistry and Human Sciences. The Plymouth DClinPsy had an intake of 15 trainees in 2020 and is expecting an intake of 13 to 15 in 2021. The programme is full-time over three years.
The external examiners should be a clinical psychologists or psychologists engaged in clinical research. Modules to be examined include clinical practice (including clinical reports and placement evaluations), research (a service evaluation, literature review and a research article) and academic assignments. Examining can be allocated according to the examiner’s areas of interest and strength.
The appointment will be for 4 years and the commitment required is as follows:
- To review a range of coursework throughout the year.
- To attend (in person or by video link), up to one assessment panel a year in September and research vivas in July.
- To submit external examiner reports.
- To engage in communication with the programme team.
