The School of Sport, Rehabilitation and Exercise Sciences at the University of Essex is seeking to appoint an External Examiner for our undergraduate programme in physiotherapy. We have been delivering physiotherapy at the University of Essex since 2004 and have an enthusiastic team of academics committed to the delivery of degrees that will empower physiotherapy students to transform lives.
We would like to appoint an External Examiner who can enhance the quality of teaching and learning within the School, who has current registration as a Physiotherapist with the Health & Care Professions Council. Whilst applications from experienced External Examiners are preferred, academics with appropriate educational and professional experience will be considered. Appointment is subject to meeting the University’s criteria for the appointment of External Examiners. The appointment is 4 years in duration and will run from October 2023 to September 2027. The commitment required is as follows:
- To participate in a minimum of one examination Board per year (Boards are normally held in June/July and take place via video conferencing)
- To submit the annual External Examiner’s Report.
- To review coursework throughout the year and provide constructive comments
- Engage with the programme team in the continuous development of the programmes
