The University of Derby Online Learning Department (UDOL) is looking to appoint an External Examiner for the BSc (Hons) Integrative Health and Social Care (top-up) (Level 6) and the Certificate of Credit in Health and Social Care Studies (Level 5, one module). The successful candidate will be responsible for the external moderation for the BSc programme and the 20 credits module for the Certificate of Credit award.

Applicants should have subject expertise in health and social care and preferably knowledge of online learning or an interest in developing an expertise in examining online modules.

The candidate should also be currently teaching in this subject area and have had curriculum design/development experience relating to higher academic level programmes.

The students are both UK and international based. All are combining their studies with work, as this is an entry requirement and they have rich and varied practice experience.

Principle duties will include:

  • Verifying assessment
  • Moderating work
  • Attending assessment boards
  • Commenting on proposed programme/module enhancements and developments
  • To write an annual External Examiner report

The appointment will be for a period of 3 years starting with the academic year 2020/2021 (January).
