Staffordshire University are seeking to appoint an experienced and suitably qualified External Examiner who will hold responsibility for the BSc Adult Nursing Practice award.
Staffordshire University sets the following criteria for the appointment of external examiners:
- Must have a high degree of competence and experience in the field(s) to which they will be appointed and have a good understanding of the UK Higher Education Sector.
- Must have appropriate experience of course design and student assessment at the level to which they will be appointed.
- Must have sufficient experience of quality assurance in higher education.
- External examiners must comply with relevant employment legislation. This includes the right to work in the United Kingdom and any additional safeguarding requirements, as appropriate.
- Normally, external examiners should not hold more than one other concurrent external examiner appointment.
- External examiners appointed to courses which are regulated by a professional body, should meet any requirements set by that professional body for external examiners.
Potential applicants must hold a Nursing qualification and be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) on the appropriate part of the register.
All appointments will be subject to an approval process and those interested will be asked to submit their CV. All applicants will be considered, including those with no previous external examiner experience.
Full training and induction will be provided upon commencement in post. The tenure will be for a four year period and successful applicants would be required to commence from August 2024.
