Leeds Trinity University has embarked on the delivery of a strategic ambition to provide a range of Nursing and Allied Health Professions’ programmes to support local, regional, and national workforce demands. As such, we have an exciting opportunity for you to be instrumental in developing and leading new programmes in Nursing (Adult, Mental Health, and Learning Disabilities fields). Located within the growing School of Health, Sport & Life Sciences (HSLS), this post will form part of the leadership group for Health and Life Sciences subjects.
Initially focusing on providing undergraduate degree programmes, the intention is to grow apprenticeship routes, postgraduate provision and CPD, co-created alongside a range of other relevant Allied Health Professions and Nursing curricula. This is an exciting time for Leeds Trinity University and this role will play a key part in the developments in our Health provision.
This role will require you to develop strategic relationships with our practice partners across the NHS and social care landscape and private, independent, and voluntary organisations. You will work closely with stakeholders across the region, to lead on practice education and engagement. This is an exciting time to join us as we drive innovation and growth in all aspects of practice education across a range of healthcare courses. Do you have the leadership skills needed to successfully provide strategic direction in practice education and to devise operational plans to meet our innovation and growth objectives? Do you have the communication skills needed to nurture relationships with our external practice partners, to seek out collaborative opportunities to support all parties, to influence placement capacity and to ensure maximum impact from our relationships? Do you have the passion needed to ensure our students experience outstanding practice education within the curricular?
You will be expected to contribute to teaching on the programme, as well as engage in research/knowledge exchange and/or professional practice commensurate with the post to which you are appointed. As an experienced and currently registered Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) Nurse practitioner and educator, you will have experience of leading on practice education, and of working closely with Health and Care partners regionally and beyond.
You will have, or be willing to undertake, a recognised teaching qualification (i.e., PGCHEP/PGCAP) as well as Senior Fellowship of Advance HE. You will also have a Postgraduate degree in Nursing or relevant subject area and preferably having completed or soon (within 6 months of appointment) to be submitted PhD (or equivalent qualification or practice-based experience/qualification).
