As one of three schools in the Faculty, the School of Nursing, Midwifery and Health is the largest School and delivers undergraduate and post graduate courses for a range of health professions including; nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, dietetics, paramedic science, operating department practice, and most recently diagnostic radiography. We also have a large portfolio of CPD courses at undergraduate and postgraduate levels including Advanced Clinical Practice and Non-Medical prescribing. Coventry is ranked in the top 10 for 12 of the 44 subject tables it appears in, and 5 of which are within the School including nursing which is ranked 6th in the UK (Guardian University Guide 2023).

We are currently seeking to recruit a part-time (0.6 FTE) mental health nurse academic into the role of Assistant Professor Mental Health Nursing with a vision to further enhance the success of the mental health nursing portfolio. Courses within this portfolio include BSc Mental Health Nursing and MSc Mental Health Nursing.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated individual who will join the School to drive the School’s vision and ambitions for nursing courses and to support staff in effective delivery of high-quality courses and promote an excellent student experience. The role-holder will work with all pre-reg mental health nursing teams to enhance the current offer.

Applicants will need to be a Registered Nurse with current NMC registration in the United Kingdom.
