The Role
As an Assistant Professor in Adult Nursing you will be the responsible for the development and delivery of teaching, learning and assessment, while demonstrating innovative approaches to teaching and support to students.
You will ensure that the teaching is informed by contemporary research in the relevant field and aid the student’s ability to engage in debate, critical discourse and rational thinking.
You will actively contribute to lead teaching, curriculum development and course management to support the school’s activities and enhance the experience for the students.
You will reflect critically on teaching, implement improvements, disseminate good practice, contribute to quality monitoring and enhancement and to professional accreditation processes. You will undertake work with external partners and professional bodies in the UK and international, while where appropriate undertaking scholar activities through a range of approaches.
You will contribute to the promotion and external profile of the university, if appropriate undertake professional development in support of teaching, support student welfare and curriculum management.
Qualification
PhD in a relevant discipline or if from a professional practice, a good honours degree (and/or Master degree) and appropriate professional qualifications and/or memberships might be considered equivalent to a PhD.
Current NMC registration and a Master’s degree is essential to this role
Our Successful Candidate
You will have recent experience of teaching at higher education level 4-7 in nursing subjects with evidence of best practice in teaching, successful student learning outcomes, evidence of good/innovative practice and extensive experience and national profile in chose subject or field. If from professional practice background, experience of leading- edge professional practice/consultancy work including evidence of effective application of solutions to business/practice problems, with associated reports or other outputs.
You will have knowledge, experience and a growing research profile of critical care nursing and be an active researcher supported by evidence of publications or other appropriate output.
You will have the ability to demonstrate adherence to regulations regarding ethics, governance, social responsibility and other legal requirements.
You will be enthusiastic and be self-motivated with experience in the development and enhancement of active learning pedagogy within your subject area.
You will also need the ability to contribute to the development and delivery of transnational education partnerships and international commercial projects.
