About the job and you: The University of Northampton is seeking an HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist to lead the development, validation and delivery of a new BSc (Hons) Speech and Language Therapy programme.
This is an exciting opportunity to shape the future of the profession, designing a practice-focused curriculum that prepares graduates for contemporary healthcare settings. Drawing on your clinical and educational experience, you will provide leadership for the programme, working closely with colleagues, students, and clinical partners to deliver an outstanding student experience.
Joining the School of Health during a significant period of growth, you will become part of a collaborative community of Allied Health Profession course leaders, contributing to innovation, curriculum development and professional excellence. With support from School and Faculty leadership, you will help establish the programme’s vision, identity and quality standards while strengthening the profile of Speech and Language Therapy across the region.
You will be an HCPC and RCSLT registered Speech and Language Therapist with a strong clinical background and experience of working in higher education or supporting learners in practice settings. Passionate about education and leadership, you will be committed to developing future practitioners and creating an engaging learning environment.
You will possess excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills, along with a clear vision for producing confident, compassionate and employable graduates.
Qualifications:
Essential
- Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject area of Speech and Language Therapy
- Registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC) and the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. (please provide registration numbers)
- Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
Desirable
- Master’s degree in relevant subject
- Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
