Our dedicated Teaching team are subject specialists focused on delivering student education, which is active, social, applied, and inclusive within our vibrant and varied education environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to join our team at our Coventry campus as Lecturer (Teaching) in Children and Young Peoples Nursing.
The Role
You will undertake teaching and course co-ordination while supporting the development and delivery of undergraduate, postgraduate, and professional course and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.
You will work closely with other academic colleagues to enrich the student learning and teaching experience to ensure, as appropriate, relevant aspects of research, enterprise and professional context are embedded in modules and courses.
Qualifications Required
- Active and live registration with NMC as a Children’s Nurse
- Practice Assessor training and experience of supporting student nurses
- Master’s degree in appropriate subject or Honours Degree with appropriate professional qualification and/or membership.
- Teaching qualification or acceptance of requirement to acquire one if not already held
- PhD or active membership of an appropriate professional body is advantageous
Our Successful Candidate
You will have demonstrable experience of successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in Children and Young Peoples Nursing either within Higher Education or within the clinical practice environment. You can demonstrate a high standard of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience supporting, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.
As a global education provider, experience and awareness of learner’s cultural differences and expectations with the ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of people from diverse backgrounds is essential.
