Coventry University offers an External Examiner Induction session and support is provided by the Curriculum Lead, Course Director and School Quality Assurance Team. As an External Examiner you will be expected to moderate modules delivered on the course and review assessment briefs. You will also be required to complete an annual External Examining Report and attend two Board of Examiners meetings each year.
Applicants are advised that the University applies the following criteria to External Examiners:
- The area of expertise of External Examiners is within the area of assessment undertaken, including knowledge of apprenticeships;
- Applicants should have recently been employed (or are still employed) within a university appointment;
- Applicants must not have been a Coventry University Examiner or employee within the last five years;
- Applicants will have a qualification registered with the HCPC or NMC and a commitment to interprofessional education;
- Experience of being an External Examiner is desirable but not essential.
