The Pre-registration Adult Nursing programme, in the Oxford School of Nursing and Midwifery, Faculty of Health, Science and Technology, Oxford Brookes University, is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the following course:
- BSc (Hons) Nursing (Adult)
Plus some work from the following courses:
- Shared modules with Children’s and Mental Health Nursing
The successful applicant would be appointed with effect from Sept 2026 for a term of four years, and would be joining a team of other external examiners to share the workload for the above courses. This appointment would be focused on the pre-registration BSc Adult Nursing course.
External examiners are requested to attend Subject Exam Boards each semester (four per year via Zoom) and to complete an annual report. During their tenure, the External Examiner is required to undertake a visit to clinical placements on either the Oxford or Swindon campus. Once a year they will also be required to review practice assessment through sampling of our electronic practice assessment document (BePAD) and the oversight of our annual BePAD audit outcomes. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications to modules and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.
