The School of Health and Social Care within the Faculty of Medicine, Health and Life Science at Swansea University is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the above nursing programme for an initial four-year period.

The successful applicant will be asked to review assessment briefs, exam papers, and marking samples throughout the academic year; review a representative sample of assessed work across the range of classifications and modules, to judge whether marking has been carried out fairly, consistently, and in line with published criteria, and submit an annual report following this. External examiners are also required to provide comments on proposed modifications and the development of new modules within their area of expertise.

Essential Criteria:

  • Experience of delivering pre-registration programmes
  • Current NMC registration on the appropriate part of the register

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience as an external examiner

Date of appointment: 26/27 – 29/30

Closing date: 17th August 2026

Programme details will be provided to the appointee and induction/training offered.
