The Role

As an Assistant Professor (Teaching) in Post Qualifying Nursing, you will be a senior member of the education team and will undertake course and module coordination, alongside teaching and assessment activities. You will support the development and delivery of our postgraduate, and professional programs and other core activities ensuring students have an effective learning experience.

Duties include:

• Undertaking the role of a course director within the Nursing portfolio.
• Lead and teach on modules and courses at HE levels 4-7 in relevant academic subject areas including curation, adaptation and creation of module teaching materials, delivering a variety of types of students learning sessions and supporting students as appropriate through informal and formal communication throughout teaching blocks.

Qualifications Required

  • Active and live registration with the NMC is essential for the role.
  • A Master’s degree in an appropriate subject is essential for the role.
  • A teaching qualification or extensive experience of delivering professional and/or university education or acceptance of the requirements to acquire one if not already held.

  • You will have strong leadership skills and experience within higher education and/or clinical practice settings.
  • You will have experience of leading successful teaching at higher education levels 4-7 in Nursing with high standards of teaching, learning and student engagement consistent with our reputation and track record as a high-quality provider of teaching and learning.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, you will have experience leading, enhancing and engaging in an ‘active learning’ pedagogy with evidence in proactively supporting student success.
