This year marks a significant milestone for the Council of Deans of Health as we celebrate 20 years of representing university faculties delivering education and research across the allied health professions (AHPs).

To mark this anniversary, we are proud to launch AHP Year 2026/27 – a year-long campaign dedicated to increasing awareness of the allied health professions and celebrate the achievements and impact that the allied health professionals have on the health and wellbeing of communities across the UK.

We are also pleased to dedicate the second day of our annual Autumn Conference to celebrate the vital contribution of AHPs to healthcare education and research.

What to expect:

Throughout the year, we will shine a spotlight on the professions, the people working within them, and the next generation of AHPs entering the workforce. Through a wide range of engaging content and activities, we aim to increase awareness of allied health careers, recognise excellence across the sector, and highlight the vital role AHPs play in delivering high-quality care.

• 20 stories for 20 years: We will showcase 20 inspiring stories from across the allied health community, highlighting the experiences, achievements and career journeys of academics and educators.
• Podcasts bringing together a range of voices from across the sector, featuring discussions on placement capacity and tariffs as well as equality, diversity and inclusion.
• Blogs showcasing perspectives from across the allied health community on topics such as enhanced practice, the value of AHP education, and research and innovation.
• Roundtable bringing together healthcare and education partners alongside senior AHP leaders to discuss key priorities and challenges in the sector. More details to be confirmed soon.
