Member visit: House of Lords visit Anglia Ruskin University

13 May 2022

Members of the House of Lords Public Services Committee were welcomed to Anglia Ruskin University’s Chelmsford campus to meet staff and students and see the full range of simulated learning offered. Professor Nigel Harrison, Pro Vice Chancellor & Dean, hosted the committee including Chair, Baroness Armstrong of Hill Top, Lord Hogan-Howe, Lord Bichard, Baroness Pitkeathley and clerks for a day’s programme.

The visit, coordinated by the Council of Deans of Health, forms part of the committee’s inquiry on ‘Designing a public services workforce fit for the future’ and follows oral and written evidence given to the inquiry by the Chief Executive Officer and Head of Policy and External Affairs. The inquiry covers the full range of public services so the team at the Council is pleased that healthcare education was given such a prominent opportunity to feed-in to it.

The visit concluded with thanks from the committee chair, which the Council echoes to Professor Harrison and the team at Anglia Ruskin University who did a fantastic job. The Council will continue our engagement with the committee and look forward to the full report. Tweets from the day can be found on our account here.
