Principal Duties:

  • Carries out designated teaching (e.g. via lectures, seminars, tutorials, workshops) and assessment duties in areas of expertise or as otherwise required by the Head of School.
  • Participates in the development and preparation of teaching materials.
  • Provides tutorial and personal guidance for students.
  • Supervises undergraduate and postgraduate projects.
  • Develops and maintains expertise in subject areas.
  • Participates in subject and course development.
  • Participates in curriculum development and in particular contributes to the introduction of new methods of teaching, learning and assessment.
  • Assists in the supervision of students as appropriate during their clinical learning experience.
  • Promotes and markets the School and its courses to local, national and international clientele.

Essential requirements:

  • Qualifications and Professional Memberships
  • Working towards or willing to work towards a MSc Masters degree in a relevant Nursing Subject/Discipline.
  • BN Bachelor or Nursing Degree Children and Young Peoples Nursing.

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Knowledge of contemporary CYP Nursing practice and policies.
  • Knowledge of pre-registration standards/education.

Desirable requirements:

Qualifications and Professional Memberships

  • MSc Masters degree in a relevant subject or PhD or prepared to work towards one.
  • Recordable NMC Teaching qualification.
  • Post Graduate Certificate – Higher Education (Teaching).

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Evidence of scholarship and/or research outputs relating to CYP Nursing e.g. conference presentations or written publications.
