The Department of Nursing and Community Health is seeking to appoint an external examiner for the following course: British Casting Certificate

The course is delivered in partnership with the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) from sites in London, Bradford, Newport & Glasgow. It is offered at SCQF levels 8 & 9 for registered nurses and casting technicians whose clinical role involves the application and management of a range of casts and splints. The course can be taken as part of the BSc / BSc (Hons) Professional Studies in Nursing.

Applications are invited from suitably qualified academic staff with an orthopaedic background and experience of managing and assessing students on similar programmes. Experience of external examining would be an advantage, but is not essential. You will be invited to review a selection of scripts for each course delivery and comment on assessment content. You would be expected to attend two Assessment Boards and submit a written report each year.

The period of tenure is for four years and will commence in September 2017.

All External Examiner appointments are subject to approval by the University. The University offers support for newly appointed external assessors.
