The University of Bedfordshire, Faculty of Health and Social Sciences is seeking to appoint an external examiner to the above course which achieved 95% overall satisfaction in the 2016 National Student Survey (NSS).
This is a full-time course which is offered over a period of three academic years. It is anticipated that University and NMC approval will be given in 2017 for a shortened flexible route over 18 months.
The course is delivered in Luton, Bedfordshire and Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire. There is one intake a year with approximately 55 students across the two counties. Students who successfully complete the course are eligible to apply for entry to the NMC register as mental health nurses.
The successful candidate must be a registered mental health nurse and will be asked to attend approximately 3 academic boards per year. We are keen to recruit someone who will also be willing to attend mentor partnership days, practice and simulation assessments in both counties during the academic year.
Whilst external examiner experience is desirable, we also welcome expressions of interest from individuals new to this role. The successful candidate will be offered an induction programme and will be supported throughout the duration of their tenure.
The term of office for the successful candidate will be for a period of 4 years from September 2016. For expressions of interest please send a current CV to Joanne Sale (Course coordinator), firstname.lastname@example.org
