The Advanced Research Methods module is a 30 credit level 11 Scottish Credit Qualifications Framework (SCQF) level 11 module and is a core requirement for post qualifying/postgraduate students seeking PgD/MSc awards within the following disciplines; Nursing, Health Visiting, District Nursing, Public Health, Education, Physiotherapy, Radiography/Diagnostic Imaging, Podiatry and Health & Social Care. In undertaking this module, students complete a 4000 research proposal. 15,000 word Dissertation by undertaking an empirical study or a structured review of the literature.

The Masters Dissertation Module is a 60 credit level 11 SCQF module and is a core requirement for post–qualifying/postgraduate students seeking MSc awards within the following disciplines; Nursing, Public Health, Physiotherapy, Radiography, Podiatry and Health & Social Care. In undertaking this module, students complete a 15,000 word Dissertation by undertaking an empirical study or a structured literature review.
